Endianness / byte-order visualizer

See how the same integer or float is laid out in bytes under little-endian and big-endian, with the IEEE-754 sign/exponent/mantissa breakdown. Runs entirely in your browser.

Big-endian (network byte order)—
Little-endian (x86 / ARM default)—

Computed locally in your browser. This shows how the SAME value is laid out in bytes under each byte order. · Try:

What this shows

  • Byte order — the identical value written little-endian (x86/ARM default) and big-endian (network byte order).
  • IEEE-754 fields — for floats, the sign bit, biased exponent and mantissa, so you can see why 0.1 is not exact.
  • Widths — 16/32/64-bit integers and 32/64-bit floats.
